The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is written by Mark Twain and takes place in Pittsburg, Mississippi around the 1830's. Tom Sawyer, being the protagonist of the story, embarks on many adventures with his friends. On one of his adventures Tom and his friend Huckleberry try to steal some gold from the antagonist, Injun Joe, who is also a murderer and a thief. Tom and Huck, who witnessed the murder, end up telling the whole story and saving the day, and the man that was blamed in his place. On every thrilling adventure Tom comes back a little wiser, with more knowledge about himself or his friends and family, "getting a little older" upon each return.

I liked the story a lot because I found it very interesting to read about a different time period. I find the characters, language, setting and customs fascinating to read about because it`s very interesting to compare the way we live now to the way we lived back in the 1830`s. I also enjoyed the fact that the author included many descriptions because, as a reader, I found it very easy to picture the places and characters. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about other time periods or whoever enjoys books about murder or adventure.

I think is very interesting your perspective of the story. I think that thanks to your post about how it helped you understand how life could have be in 1830s, I learn to appreciate more the book.
