True love isn't something that pops up out of the middle of nowhere like a weed, it is like the sapling of a tree that takes a long time and hard work to grow but when it does it will last forever. Sure there are some trees that grow faster than others but none just randomly appear overnight. Love at first sight is just an illusion, something that the world gives us to hope for... That someday someone will fall in love with you just by looking at you and the pair of love-stricken lovebirds will instantly become soul mates and live happily ever after in a big, fancy castle. Unfortunately, the universe also gave us real life, and I'm sorry to say that love at first sight never happens in the real world, only in fairy tales. So don’t wait for your prince on a white horse to magically appear and fall in love with you because you probably have a better chance of winning the lottery 7 times in a row.
And speaking of probability, I honestly can't think of a single time anyone has ever told me, "It was love at first sight!" and truly mean it. Usually comments are purely physical like, "He had beautiful eyes and great abs and a perfect smile!" but never comments like, "He is my soul mate and we will love each other forever!" Which, by the way, brings us back to my comment in the first paragraph (If you don't remember it please reread it. It is truly worth your time to further your understanding of this brilliant comment). I'm just doing the math here, of how many times I've heard a love at first sight story (0 in total), and I have to say... numbers don't lie. So, if you do have a love at first sight story for me, please share! And if you have won the lottery 7 times in a row don't be shy either.
